He didn't set out to start a movement. He set out to survive, understand himself, and make sense of what too many men quietly go through alone.

Before HEvolve Foundation existed, Riliwan Amoo had already lived through the kind of internal battles most people never see. As a two-time survivor of suicide attempts, he understood firsthand what it feels like to carry pain in silence — and how little structured support exists for men when they reach that point.

In reflecting on his own journey and the stories of other men around him, one pattern became impossible to ignore: men were struggling everywhere, but rarely had spaces designed for how they experience emotional distress, identity pressure, and mental health challenges. Not because the need wasn't there — but because the systems weren't built for them.

In 2022, he founded HEvolve Foundation to change that. What began as a personal response to survival has since grown into a platform focused on helping men confront mental health challenges earlier, access support more safely, and redefine strength as awareness, responsibility, and growth.

Today, HEvolve Foundation has supported thousands of men, contributed to preventing mental health crises, convened one of Nigeria's largest International Men's Day gatherings, and continues to build accessible pathways to care through initiatives like HEvolve Companion.

A 2024 Mandela Washington Fellow, Riliwan brings lived experience and systems thinking together — building HEvolve Foundation not as awareness alone, but as a structured response to a long-ignored gap in men's mental health support. He is an author and published Becoming Him — a book on the journey to manhood.
